Fees & Funding
Clear guidance on day care fees and funding
Understanding how day care is paid for can feel confusing. Families often come to us unsure whether they should pay privately, speak to the local authority, ask for an assessment, or explore other routes of support.
CPM Day Care accepts private clients and local authority funded clients. Our current day rate is £65 plus VAT, and we can also provide planned showering for £12 plus VAT where this is agreed as part of the support arrangement.
We are also able to support families to understand local authority funding routes, including where day care may be arranged or funded through the local authority.
A practical starting point
Fees should be clear before families commit
Families should not feel embarrassed about asking how day care is paid for. Cost, affordability and funding are often central to the decision.
Some families pay privately. Some families approach the local authority for support. Some are already known to social services. Some are only beginning to realise that their loved one may need more support during the day.
We aim to explain things plainly. We can talk through how our fees work, how private attendance may be arranged, and what families may need to consider if they want to explore local authority involvement or funding.
Main routes
How day care may be paid for
The right route depends on your loved one’s circumstances, needs, finances and any local authority involvement. We can help you understand the broad options before you decide what to do next.
Current fees
Our private day rate
Our current day rate is £65 plus VAT. This gives families a clear starting point when considering private day care, respite, regular attendance or a trial period.
We can also provide planned showering for £12 plus VAT where this is agreed in advance and forms part of the support arrangement.
Private clients
Paying privately for day care
Many families arrange day care privately. This can be a simple route where families want to begin support quickly, arrange regular attendance, or provide respite without waiting for a formal process.
We can explain availability, attendance options, what is included and what information we need before your loved one starts attending.
Local authority funded
Local authority funded day care
We accept local authority funded clients where the arrangement is appropriate. We are on framework, which means we can work with local authority funded arrangements where day care is agreed as part of the support package.
Families may need to speak with the local authority about assessment, eligibility and funding. We can help you understand the practical route.
Understanding the process
Support accessing local authority finance
Local authority processes can feel difficult to navigate. Families may be unsure what to ask for, who to contact, what information to provide, or how day care fits within a wider care and support plan.
We can help families understand the route and prepare for the right conversations.
Free consultancy support
Fees and funding guidance with The Care Guys
Fees and funding is not just an admin question. It often sits alongside wider concerns about care needs, carer strain, local authority involvement, assessments, family responsibility and the right timing for support.
In collaboration with The Care Guys, we provide free fees and funding guidance for families considering day care. This gives families a chance to ask questions and understand options before making decisions.
Where the issue is more detailed or case specific, we can explain whether more structured private consultancy support may be appropriate. If specialist regulated financial or legal advice is needed, we will say so.
This may help if you are asking:
- Can we pay privately for day care?
- Can the local authority fund or arrange day care?
- What do we ask the local authority for?
- What if my loved one already has a care package?
- Can day care help reduce pressure on family carers?
- What information do we need before making a decision?
What we can help with
Practical guidance, not pressure
Families often need a calm explanation of what the options are. We can help you understand the practical position without pushing you into a decision.
Fees
Understanding our fees
We can explain private fees, session options, what is included, what may need to be discussed separately and how attendance may be arranged.
Assessment
Understanding local authority involvement
We can explain the general route families may need to consider where they want the local authority to assess care and support needs.
Care planning
How day care fits into wider support
Day care may sit alongside family support, home care, respite, community support or other services. We can help you think about how it may fit.
Carer pressure
Funding respite and support
Families often seek funding because carers are under pressure. We can help you explain why day care may be important for both your loved one and the carer.
Questions
Preparing for conversations
We can help families think about what to ask, what information may be relevant, and how to explain why day care is being considered.
Next steps
Deciding what to do next
Sometimes the next step is a visit. Sometimes it is a call to the local authority. Sometimes it is a more detailed family discussion. We can help you identify that step.
Monthly advice sessions
Free advice sessions in collaboration with The Care Guys
We hold free advice and consultancy sessions in collaboration with The Care Guys. These sessions are designed to help families understand care options, funding routes, local authority processes and whether day care may be suitable.
You do not need to know exactly what you are asking before you attend. These sessions are there to help families get a clearer view of what support may be available and what they may need to do next.
Useful for families who need help with:
- Day care fees and private payment.
- Local authority funding and assessment routes.
- Questions about carer respite.
- Understanding care options.
- Preparing for conversations with professionals.
- Knowing what to do next.
